Human activities, if not adequately controlled, may have immediate and long term adverse effects on the environment.
Favoured Mike Cocoa Nigeria Ltd committed to take all necessary steps so as to
limit the adverse effects on the environment arising from the company’s activities, services and premises.
Favoured Mike Cocoa Nigeria Ltd committed to comply with Nigerian legal
Environmental requirements as well as other specific contractual requirements and operate under the principles of ISO 14001 so as to ensure a continuous improvement in protecting the environment and preventing pollution.
Additionally, Favoured Mike Cocoa Nigeria Ltd committed to:
- Identify environmental aspects of all Company’s activities, services and
premises and assess their impacts on the environment.
- Implement adequate operational controls so as to minimize the impacts
of all identified environmental aspects to an acceptable level.
- Reduce as much as reasonably practicable the production of wastes
and effluents and adequately control their disposal or rejects.
- Promote wastes recycling methods and alternatives.
- Respond in an appropriate manner to environmental incident and
emergencies by implementing adequate pollution contingency plan.
- Monitor and ensure the effectiveness of the environmental management
system through regular inspections and audits.
Favoured Mike Cocoa Nigeria Ltd shall use its influence to ensure all Subcontractors and Suppliers adopt this Policy.
